Hoechst, Austria - Smooth fronts without handles are a typical feature of modern living environments. To make it easy to open such fronts, Blum not only offers its Servo-Drive electric opening system but also a mechanical system called Tip-On. In future, Tip-On might be available in combination with soft-close Blumotion. The Austrian fittings specialist made the most of interzum to present its concept study for the first time to an international audience. The idea was to discuss the potential of the new solution with experts from near and far and lay the foundations for the next steps in development.

The new motion concept

The new solution presented as a concept study facilitates easy opening. Pull-outs and drawers equipped with the Tip-On mechanical opening system open at a single touch and then glide with Blum’s characteristic feather-light glide. Thanks to tried and trusted Blumotion, they close again softly and effortlessly. What’s so extraordinary is that the fittings solution combines Tip-On and Blumotion which are two counteracting forces. The former provides easy, one-touch opening, the latter soft closing. Blum’s concept study thus offers top quality motion on a mechanical basis for modern design ideas.
