8th Closets Conference & Expo Opens WednesdayAUSTIN, TX -- The 8th Closets & Home Organization Conference & Expo gets off with a bang on Wednesday with a full day of education culminating with a reception featuring presentations of the CLOSETS Top Shelf Design Awards.

NFL legend Vince Papale, who was portrayed by Makr Walhberg in the Disney hit movie "Invincible," will deliver the keynote speech. His presentation will be followed by highlights of a new consumer remodeling trends study by Liza Hausman of Houzz.com. The three-day Closets Conference, cosponsored by the Association of Closet and Storage Professionals (ACSP) and CLOSETS magazine, continues with a variety of sales, marketing and management sessions on Wednesday afternoon and Thursday and Friday.

Professional organizer Amanda LeBlanc, star of The Style Network's new series "The Amandas," will emcee presentation of the annual Top Shelf Awards, a competition that celebrates design excellence in closet, garage and other room projects.

The Closets Expo, featuring displays of products for use by manufacturers and specifiers of closets, cabinets, garages and other storage solutions opens at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 16, and continues on Friday. This year's Closets Expo features the first crop of winnners of the ACSP Innovation Awards, saluting product innovation and sponsored by the Assocaition of Closet and Storage Professionals.

Also starting Thursday is the 3rd Custom Cabinet Conference, cosponsored by the Cabinet Makers Association and Custom Woodworking Business magazine. This year's conference focuses on best practices to grow sales and reduce costs.

The event ends on Friday with a tour of Janov Millwork, a high-end architectural woodwork operation.
