My wife is asking me to recreate this bed frame. I’m a novice woodworker and I ordered the exact bed frame legs from Etsy. The legs are made out of yellow pine and I plan on using the same wood for the sides of the bed. After doing some research I feel that they used a 2 x 3 for the sides. Is that what it looks like to you (2 x 3) and would you recommend the same?

Can you buy a normal 2 x 3 or do you glue two 1 x 3 pieces together to make them thick enough? What is the best way of connecting the 4 sides to the legs? I’ve seen a few things on line and I’ll attach a picture but what do you think would make this stable but also easy to break down for moves?
