Hi, we wanted our great room to have a beautiful focal point and had our contractor use cedar T&G with oak beams. It looked great- until they finished the cedar with Danish oil, which saturated unevenly and now looks blotchy and terrible. We don’t know what to do to fix it, and neither do they, it seems. We’re heartbroken that what was meant as a beautiful accent now looks awful, and they don’t seem willing to foot the cost of ordering new cedar. Any ideas? They tried to sand it down but you can still see the uneven oil marks.
