GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Following an extensive national search, BIFMA welcomes Jennifer Wammack to the newly created staff position of director of outreach.

BIFMA values innovation and continuous improvement to meet the needs of the marketplace and effective communication of these values is increasingly important in light of the continually changing workplace and the blending of residential and commercial environments. One of the key objectives for the director of outreach is to develop and implement strategies to help address these trends.

With a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Textile Design from the Rhode Island School of Design, Wammack is a design-centric brand ambassador who has had a successful career designing textiles for commercial furnishings. She has held design leadership roles at several textile manufacturers including Milliken Fabric, Guilford of Maine, and Valdese Weavers.

In 2009, Wammack joined IDa Design, an independent furniture design consultancy, where her role included design, strategy, research, marketing, and sustainable practices. She edited the firm’s publications, including Lumen, a quarterly trend report, as well as a trend column for Bellow Press Workplaces Magazine.

Wammack also lectured nationally on the importance of trend tracking for commercial design professionals and is a guest instructor in sustainable business at Kendall College of Art and Design/Ferris State University. She has also lectured at Aquinas College and Grand Valley State University.

As the trade association for business and institutional furniture manufacturers since 1973, BIFMAʼs role has been to monitor the state of the industry, serve as a forum for member cooperation and collaboration, sponsor the development and refining of current and future standards, educate on their importance and application, and translate their necessary complexity into more easily understood and implemented formats.
