What surfer wouldn't want to catch some waves with the 12-foot Stand Up Paddle Board from Three Brothers Boards, located in Daytona Beach, FL. It is an eye-pleaser on any beach.
The board was crafted with 1.5 pound EPS foam core, single Balsa stringer, 1/64-inch wood veneer sandwiched between two layers of 6 ounce S-cloth fiberglass/epoxy resin, with an added layer for extra durability. The hand-shaped foam, hand-glassed shell, wood veneer is steamed over a mould to fit a foam core shape and seamed at the rails to create a full wood look.
Materials used include: Balsa wood stringer, Balsa wood veneer, stained Balsa wood for darker woods, 6 oz. S-cloth fiberglass/epoxy resin, handle, vent plug, and leash plugs, created with traditional woodworking machinery: hand saw, hand planer, cheese grate planer, electric planer, wet and dry sandpaper and screens, electric sander/polisher, squeegees, and electric router.
