Kicking off a new initiative, Woodworking Network will produce a full day Closets & Home Storage Symposium on Tuesday July 18th the day prior to the opening of the 2017 AWFS Fair.
 
Presented by Closets and Organized Storage magazine, hot-button sessions for closet designers, builders, and garage businesses include a ClosetMaid Pro case study, European design trends, million dollar closets ideas, marketing tips for your closets business, trends in home storage and garage renovation and more.
 
The Closets Symposium takes place at the Las Vegas Convention Center from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and it focuses on trending home organization topics impacting the industry as boomers downsize and millennials find their first homes.

ClosetMaid Pro Case Study – ClosetMaid has been venturing into upscale laminate and wood closets, working with home builders to provide full-service design and installation. ClosetMaid dealer Brandon Olson of Closet Creations Inc., Maryville, Wash., will present projects done with MN Custom Homes, including a 14-closet home recently completed on Lake Washington.
 
Strategic Showrooms – Sarah Reep, Director of Designer Relationships & Education at Masco Cabinetry teams with Denise Butchko, Closet Designer and Content Marketing Strategist, Butchko & Co., to share insights and action items for creating a showroom that sells and supports your brand. The showroom is now the second stop when consumers begin their “Buyer’s Journey;” the Internet is the first.  You’ll gain insights on how to reset your showroom for today’s buyer and manage your digital image so your “website showroom” reinforces what buyers find when they enter your “brick and mortar showroom.”
 
European Design Trends in Closets – Sheri Mercadante, Marketing Director at German Design Center, will present trends in European closet, including Germany’s Hulsta, whose Multi-Forma is adaptable to lofts, rehabs, and new construction, and offered in wood and lacquered finishes. 
WoodTrac Closets by Sauder – Director of sales and marketing, Jonathan Zublena will detail the develop process that lead to the launch of WoodTrac Closets, providing diversification for a venerable ready-to-assemble wood products manufacturer. 
 
Trends in Panel & Components –A panel of AWFS Fair home organization exhibitors will look at trends in textures, colors, and components, moderated by industry rock star Lisa Adams, LA Closet Design, launched in 2007 to revolutionize the concept of closets. Since then, a roster of celebrities, designers, architects and homeowners of all stripes have engaged Lisa’s services to create customized, often high tech and environmentally friendly wardrobe spaces that their living experience and add style and flair to one of the most important spaces in a house.

AWFS Closets Pavilion

AWFS Fair 2017 will add a Closets and Home Organization Pavilion at the upcoming AWFS Fair, July 19-22, 2017. The pavilion will be co-sponsored with Closets & Organized Storage magazine.
The pavilion will have its own designated area in the Las Vegas Convention Center, on the AWFS Fair show floor, and is accompanied by educational sessions focusing on custom closets, garages, and organized storage. These sessions will be featured as part of the AWFS Fair College of Woodworking Knowledge curriculum.
 
“In 2017, organization is at the forefront of consumer trends, driving new opportunities for designers, suppliers, and manufacturers,” said Laurel Didier, Publisher of Closets & Organized Storage magazine.

AWFS Fair also announced that it has sold out the supplier portion of the exhibit hall (and 90 percent of the entire show floor) for the 2017 event and has designated additional space for supplier companies which will be located near the Closets pavilion.
