WMMA/WMIA merger finalized

The results are in and the merger of two machinery associations — the Wood Machinery Manufacturers of America (WMMA) and the Woodworking Machinery Industry Association (WMIA) — have been approved. A new association the WIA, becomes official on Jan. 1, 2024.

YellaWood to build new treatment facility

YellaWood maker plans to build a lumber treatment facility in Tyler Interstate Commerce Park, bringing 100 jobs to Tykler, Texas, area. Justin Wright, executive vice president at Great Southern Wood Preserving, told CBS19.TV that the company plans to develop 50 acres at first and the development will bring 100 jobs to the area. The company recently purchased 150 acres within the new 412-acre industrial park, and the facility is set to open in January of 2025.
