East Teak Announces Name Change

DALLAS -- East Teak Fine Hardwoods Inc., an importer of teak lumber and other hardwood products, announced that the company has been renamed to broaden the brand emphasis from teak woods to all fine hardwoods. The company formerly operated as East Teak Trading Group Inc. Other changes taking place to reflect the new company image will be a re-branding strategy that will include a new logo design, Web site redesign, and the redesign and creation of other marketing materials to help support East Teak's new image.

Huttig Reports Q3 Sales Decline

ST. LOUIS -- Huttig Building Products Inc., a distributor of millwork, building materials and wood products, reported a decline in sales of 3% in the third quarter 2006 to $294.2 million, according to Yahoo. The company also announced its decision to close, in the fourth quarter of 2006, two smaller distribution centers, one in Albany, NY, and the other in Grand Rapids, MI.

TRACO to Open New Georgia Location

CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, PA -- TRACO, a manufacturer windows and doors, is expanding an 80,000-square-foot building for a new plant in Bainbridge, GA, according to The Post-Searchlight. The construction completion date is scheduled for the first quarter of 2007. TRACO President and CEO Robert P. Randall said a key factor in the company’s decision was the strategic location of Bainbridge to the Gulf Coast.

CARTERSVILLE, GA -- NorthStar Chemicals Inc., an adhesive manufacturer specializing in ACS applications systems serving the HPL, HVAC, manufactured housing, RV and marine markets, announced Oct. 8 that it has been acquired by 3M for an undisclosed sum.
