Queen City Closets prides itself on customer service and delivering a high-end product

Although James (J.T.) Clarke, owner of Charlotte, North Carolina-based Queen City Closets, a designer of high-end closet systems, came from a family of entrepreneurs, starting his own business wasn’t top of mind when he finished college. But as life would have it, an accidental slip and broken kneecap was the impetus for him falling right his family’s entrepreneurial spirit.
 
“I started off doing tile work (while in college). We did work in really high-end homes,” Clarke says.

Best in Wood contest to launch soon

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The 2017 Best in Wood Awards, sponsored by Woodworking Network, is set to launch June 19.
 
The contest is given annually to celebrate custom woodworkers for their outstanding craftsmanship.
 
The contest honors custom woodworkers in seven categories:
1.) residential furniture, freestanding;
2.) residential furniture, built-in;
3.) architectural millwork;
4.) commercial/institutional;
5.) kitchen/bath cabinets;
6.) countertop/solid

Bella cabinets held open house and tech tour demonstration

Bella IMC held an open house May 18 and 19 offering builders, cabinet makers and other industry professionals a first-hand look at its process of manufacturing cabinets using the Lockdowel EClips system in conjunction with Allmoxy and Cabinet Vision.
 
The free tech tour kicked off with a presentation from Lockdowel representatives — CEO Stephen Macdonald and Darin Johnson showing just how easy and quick it is to assemble a cabinet or drawer using the technology.
