Mote kicks off second biomass to hydrogen project in Northern California

LOS ANGELES — Mote Inc. has received $1.2 million in grant funding from the US Forest Service, the California Department of Conservation, and the California Department of Forestry (CAL FIRE) to establish its second biomass to hydrogen and carbon sequestration plant in partnership with the Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD).

West Fraser acquires Spray Lake Sawmills

West Fraser Timber Co. has entered into an agreement to acquire Spray Lake Sawmills for (CAD) $140 million ($103 million). This move, the company says, will help WFG to grow its footprint in Southern Alberta and expand its Canadian treated wood business, while providing access to a high-quality timber supply.
