Georgia-Pacific to build $150 million softwood lumber mill
Georgia-Pacific will build a $150 million softwood lumber facility in Albany, Georgia. Construction on the 320,000-square-foot facility is expected to start later this year, with startup projected for late 2019. When fully operational, the plant will employ 130 people.

Residential furniture orders show 5% gain in May
HIGH POINT, N.C. - Residential furniture orders rose 5% in May compared to the year prior, marking five straight months of year-over-year growth, according to the latest Furniture Insights survey of residential furniture manufacturers and distributors from Smith Leonard. An estimated 63% of those surveyed reported an increase in new orders for May, compared to 79% which growth in April, the accounting and consulting firm reported.
Year-to-date new orders remain 6% ahead of last year's figures for the same time period.

Broyhill, Thomasville parent Heritage Home Group faces millions in debt
HIGH POINT - The Chapter 11 filing by Broyhill and Thomasville & Co. parent Heritage Home Group shows estimated assets and liabilities in the range of $100 million to $500 million. Earlier today the residential furniture giant announced it had filed a petition in U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware to begin restructuring as it sells its remaining iconic brands.
