Residential furniture orders see slower growth in November

Standard Furniture to stop casegoods manufacturing in Bay Minette; 185 jobs eliminated
Standard Furniture will cease manufacturing laminated casegoods at its Bay Minette, Alabama, location by March 31, and relocate its home accessories and warehousing operations to the location. Approximately 185 jobs will be cut.

Cabinet sales up 2% in 2018; December also shows rise
RESTON, Va. - 2018 cabinet sales totaled $7.3 billion, a growth of 2% compared to 2017 figures, according to the latest business trend survey by the Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association. Sales of stock cabinetry grew 4.8% and custom sales also increased 4.5%, while semi-custom sales decreased 1.8%, according to participants in KCMA's monthly Trend of Business survey.
