Additional tariffs levied against U.S. hardwood & veneer exports to China
WASHINGTON - U.S. hardwood lumber, logs and veneer exports are among the products impacted in a new round of tariffs announced Friday by the Chinese government. The tariffs will be implemented in two phases, beginning Sept.1 and Dec. 15.

Arauco to acquire Prime-Line, expands moulding & millwork presence in North America
Arauco has signed an agreement to acquire Prime-Line Inc., a manufacturer of MDF moulding and millwork products. Arauco said the acquisition strengthens its presence in the North American moulding industry.

ACPI parent AIP among bidders for Masco Cabinetry division
ACPI cabinetry's parent American Industrial Partners is among the bidders for Masco Corp.'s cabinet business, which includes the KraftMaid, Merillat, Masco Cabinetry, and Cardell Cabinetry brands, according to news sources. ASTM revises furniture stability standard
WEST CONSHOHOCKEN, Penn. – Revisions to the voluntary furniture stability standard for clothing storage units are expected to be published this month, according to information from the American Home Furnishings Alliance. The revision to ASTM F2057 expands the scope of the standard to clothing storage furniture 27 inches and taller, as opposed to 30 inches and higher previously, and incorporates two new warning labels.
