Synthetic Wood Furniture Offered by Highwood USATAMAQUA, PA — Highwood USA's Tamaqua, PA, facility features a wide range of American-made furniture and other products hand-crafted from synthetic wood.

"Our wood alternative was created for those who want products with the look of real wood, yet without the headache of wood ownership," Highwood USA President/CEO John Quarmley said.

In 2003, Highwood USA started producing the material exclusively in North America. According to the company, within a few years it had become the top manufacturer of hot tub cabinets. Highwood soon found a second niche: selling the advanced synthetic wood in the form of dimensional lumber for amusement park benches, towel bins and trash cans. In late 2010, Highwood USA also launched a line of outdoor furniture and accessories which were nominated as "Best of Show" contenders at the International Casual Furniture & Accessories Market.

While Highwood USA's total product offering has grown quickly, the company said many customers know it for its Adirondack Collection. "These all-season chairs offer curved backs, optional cushions, three-stage reclining, and easy folding for transport and storage," said Quarmley.

The furniture collection also includes ottomans and tables.
