Conifex Timber Inc. has agreed to sell its Lignum Forest Products subsidiary to CanWel Building Material Group for $11.5 million (USD).

LITTLETON, Colo. — Kodiak Building Partners has acquired substantially all the operating assets of Direct Lumber and Door of Colorado, a provider of millwork, lumber, trusses, and other products for the contractor and remodeling markets. Details of the Sept. 6 transaction were not disclosed. Current President Tom Kostelecky, will continue to lead Direct Lumber and Door and also join the ownership ranks of Kodiak, according to a statement.

U-C Coatings has completed its acquisition of Contechem. Both companies provide complementary products for protecting freshly cut lumber and logs. Contechem manufactures anti-stain and mold inhibitor products under the Britewood brand. U-C Coatings produces wood protection products, including Anchorseal, Bates, B.O.S.S. (Bright Orange Sample Sealer), Gempaint, LogDawg and Shade-Dri brands.
