International hardwood conference slatedBLACKSBURG, VA — The International Scientific Conference on Hardwood Processing, bringing together wood industry professionals, scientists, association and government representatives, as well as industry suppliers and hardwood users, will be held Oct. 16-18 in Blacksburg, VA.

Hosted by Virginia Tech, the ISCHP32011 will cover recent hardwood developments as well as other relevant issues. Topics include: forestry practices and quality; supply chain management; sustainability and certification; processing and optimization; global and U.S. hardwood industry update; and future innovations.

Conference collaborators include: Wood Education and Research Center, USDA Forest Service, FPInnovations, FCBA, CNR-IVALSA Trees and Timber Institute, the Wood Component Manufacturers Assn., National Hardwood Lumber Assn., Appalachian Hardwoods Manufacturers Institute, Hardwood Market Report, Wood Products Manufacturers Assn., American Hardwood Export Council and the Architectural Woodwork Institute.
