According to the August 2022 manufacturing Institute for Supply Management Report On Business, economic activity in the manufacturing sector grew in August, with the overall economy achieving a 27th consecutive month of growth, but wood products and furniture and related products were one of seven industry sector that contracted. 

In January-June, the U.S. exports of hardwood lumber expanded 12% year-on-year to 1.9 million m3. The value of exports jumped 21% to $1.3 billion. In first half of 2022, the average price of hardwood lumber expanded 8% to $679 per m3.

ASHLAND, Ala. -- Customers who made down payments on cabinets from Tru Cabinetry before the company's announcement that it was closing operations have not received their cabinets or received reimbursement for the down payment. Reports from 1819News said that several customers have not been compensated for their partial payment. One customer, who told 1819News that she had a family member who was a Tru Cabinetry employee, had ordered cabinets in July to remodel a kitchen and put down nearly $5,000 toward the purchase.
