MENDOTA, IL - The North Central Regional Betterment Coalition and Illinois Valley Community College held the second annual Discover Manufacturing Career Expo on October 22, which provided more than 300 high school students with the opportunity to explore career possibilities with companies such as Black Bros Co, manufacturer of roll-coating and laminating machinery.

Participating companies also included Sabic, Carus Corporation, Gardner Denver, MBL USA, Allegion (LCN Closers), Vactor and Eakas.

Black Bros Co. held a plant tour for students from Mendota High School. The tour included demonstrations of large equipment and an explanation of various jobs throughout the company.

Students also met with a host of manufacturing professionals at Illinois Valley Community College and listened to keynote speakers.

Representatives from Black Bros Co. said the students asked many questions about college and career preparation.
