Unique Machine Celebrates 45 Years with Expansion Plans

To mark its 45th anniversary in 2014, Unique Machine & Tool Company is expanding its Phoenix, Arizona Campus.

The acquisition of adjacent land with additional buildings for continued manufacturing is the latest step on the path of growth for the company. Unique tributes its survival in the recession to fiscally conservative decisions, as well as a history of purpose, focus, and growth.

Unique began in 1969 by building accessories for the woodworking industry.

In 1979, the company developed the Unique and Original Door Machine, which could effectively machine all parts of a five-piece door in less than two minutes. In 1990, the company expanded to include a variety of machines specifically built for the Solid Wood Door Manufacturer.

Many Unique Machine users have taken advantage of the company’s recycling program by sending their machines in for a rebuild and new life with updated controls provided by Mitsubishi Electric.

All welding, machining, and electrical controls assembly takes place at Unique’s Phoenix, Arizona campus. The company expects the new expansion to continue helping the company progress in developing machinery the industry demands.
