LEED v4 Delayed for One Year; 61% of Green Builders 'Not Ready'

The U.S. Green Building Council delayed manadatory adoption of LEED v4 for a year, extending the registration for LEED certified projects under the existing standard until Oct. 31, 2016. A survey showed 61% of builders weren't ready.

A fire at a Canadian pine wood pellet manufacturer, Pinnacle Renewable Energy, injured three workers. An official investigation into the cause has yet to be launched.

Four More Health Care Firms Dump Furniture with Flame Retardants

Four more major U.S. health systems says they will now only buy furniture without toxic flame retardants. Kaiser Permanente made a similar move in June, in a growing sector-wide effort to eliminate what is seen as an unneeded health threat.
