Wood Damaged by Ice Storm Fuels Power Plant in South Carolina

Nearly 21,000 tons of timber and woody debris damaged by February ice storms in the Southeast is being burned at Ameresco's Savannah River bio-energy plant in Aiken, SC. It represents 55% of the power plant's wood fuel purchases.

Vecoplan won a $25.7 million contract from German Pellets Gmbh, which will begin construction on the world's largest wood pellet plant, in Urania, LA. It is double the size of a Woodville, TX plant going on line now.
