RiverCity Cabinets Inc., Austin, TX — The job of manufacturing, delivering and installing high-end custom cabinets has been a successful one for the 8-year-old firm, which has worked with many of Austin’s prestigious custom home builders, interior designers and architects.

“Profit is achieved by increasing volume while reducing costs to generate that volume,” says Co-owner Randy Hardin. “We purchased a second CNC machine [in 2011] to eliminate bottlenecks. We are hiring additional CAD operators to keep the workflow moving. We also are hiring additional Project Managers to maintain our level of customer service and nurture the relationships we’ve built with our builders.

“Our relationships with our builders is our main asset,” he adds.

2013 sales are projected to be better than last year’s, with expectations for 2014 considered “excellent,” Hardin says. “We did buy the buildings and land we’ve been renting, so that’s a major step in our future. We’ll be able to expand our showroom and our production facility. This should enable us to grow 100% over the next couple of years.”
