This open kitchen designed by BKI Woodworks incorporates two materials, distinct in their own right in terms of color and texture, that when combined create a striking kitchen. The burgundy cabinets and appliance panels are of high gloss solid acrylic. The curved cabinetry in the island is of textured wood laminate.

An entry in the 2013 Custom Woodworking Design Portfolio, the kitchen was designed not only for cooking but also for entertaining. The curved island incorporates cooking and preparation areas and invites guests to be a part of the process with seating along the outside edge.
