Walnut and Bird's-Eye Maple Cabinet Has the Angles

This walnut and birds eye maple drawer unit is modern in design with 15-degree angles adding a shape that could connect all of the pieces including the mirror frame and shelf.

The drawers were made of solid walnut with angled sides to match the cabinet sides finished with a clear coat. The drawer fronts are MDF with walnut veneer on the inside and edges the outside is birds eye maple veneer. The center of the top is birds eye maple veneer on MDF with a solid walnut and birds eye maple border raised on aluminum posts to give it a floating effect.

Fowler Custom Works Inc., located in Mississauga, ON, Canada, entered this project in the 21st Design Portfolio awards. Fowler is a family business specializing in interior and exterior home renovation and remodeling and also can create countertops from concrete, metal, solid surface or wood to a blend of materials.
