Project: 18th Century Desk
Materials: This desk was fabricated with mahogany and poplar.
Construction: This piece is based off of a late 18th century design. The desk could only be 96 inches high, so they started with the doors and then designed the rest of the desk. Veneer was made from mahogany crotch and the sides and drawer fronts are solid cut from 16/4 mahogany.
Project Notes: The desk is based on bombe furniture made in Boston in the late 18th century.
