Pull of Purple Making a Comeback

One color in particular is a surefire tell that the consumer’s mood is shifting. If you look closely at the consumer side, you will see the Pull of Purple. When you start to see purple coming into consumer markets, clothing in particular, it’s an indication that people are feeling better about the economy.


Weyerhaeuser to Re-start Engineered Lumber Mill

Weyerhaeuser will invest and hire 100 as it re-starts production on its engineered lumber and joists mill in Evergreen, AL. The mill has been closed for four years.


The Global Forest Industry in the 2Q/2013

In the 2Q/13, the Global Sawlog Price Index (GSPI), which is based on 19 key markets around the world, increased for the fourth consecutive quarter to reach US$86.60/m3. The Index has gone up 5.1 percent year-over-year, reaching its highest level since the 4Q/11.
