Cabinet plants will buy more Cherry for installation in high-end homes, and millwork shops will increasingly substitute Cherry for Walnut. China, meanwhile will continue to buy ash, which accounts for 70% of export volume.

New Zealand leads the world as the largest exporter of softwood logs, counting for more than 20 percent of global trade, as exports have doubled to approximately 16 million cubic meters, according to a report by Wood Resources International.
