Lumber supply prices for white oak and walnut remain firm. The hardwood market in a whole is in the middle of a market correction driven by slower exports and higher lumber production.


UCS Forest Group Opens LEED-certified Edmonton Warehouse

UCS Forest Group opened a LEED-certified warehouse Edmonton, Alberta. Since its 1999 start in Calgary, Upper Canada Forest Products has expanded its presence in the area, acquiring Reimer Hardwoods and Cambium Forest Products.

U.S. hardwood export volumes and values spiked up to 18% and 33% respectively in first five months of 2014. However, prices slowed in June with red oak availability and price softening a contributing factor.

CatchMark Adds Timber Acreage for $106 Million
