EDINBURGH, Ind.- On August 4th, 2016, Carter Rothrock stepped down as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of MacBeath Hardwood Company after 18 years at the post. Rothrock also resigned his position on the company’s Board of Directors. He will resume his duties as President of MacBeath as he continues to battle an illness.
The Board of Directors has since appointed Jonathan MacBeath as the company’s new CEO. He is only the corporation’s sixth CEO in their 62-year history. MacBeath has a 20 year career at the company, where he started in a sales position following his college graduation in 1996. In 2001, he became the general manager of their San Francisco distribution center, and after 11 years in that post, MacBeath was appointed Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the corporation.
He spearheaded the relocation of the company headquarters from San Francisco to their dry kiln facility in Edinburgh, Indiana, where he currently resides. MacBeath has also been serving as acting CEO for the past 18 months as Rothrock has been receiving treatment for cancer.
“The Board of Directors is grateful for Carter Rothrock’s dedicated service to MacBeath Hardwood,” said Sharon MacBeath, Secretary to the Board of Directors. “He has been with us for 37 years in total and we are thrilled that he will continue on as a senior member of the executive team.”
MacBeath’s appointment marks the first time a MacBeath will serve in the top position since 1984. “It is an absolute honor to continue the tradition that my grandfather started back in 1954,” MacBeath. “Carter was instrumental in preserving those core principles and I feel very fortunate to have learned from him, as well as Joe Cortese, former CEO of the business. We have a lot of very exciting projects in the works here at MacBeath.”
Director of Finance Brian Wynk will take over as the new CFO. Brian brings a wealth of knowledge to the table from a financial perspective, as well as the background to introduce an array of new efficiency programs that the corporation has embraced.
