MacDonald Hardwoods, a provider and installer of high-quality hardwood flooring, talked to 205 interior designers across the country about what they are recommending, what their customers are asking them for, and what trends they are seeing for the upcoming year.

MacDonald says they were surprised to find that only 44 percent of designers use solid hardwood flooring the most when flooring is a part of a redesign (instead of engineered hardwood), down from 63 percent last year. But 76 percent of designers said that they would recommend solid hardwood flooring for homes with pets, compared to 23 percent that would choose engineered flooring.

For three decades, MacDonald Hardwoods has offered a wide selection of hardwood flooring – ranging from exotic hardwoods like Santos Mahogany to special kiln-dried flooring. The company does their own installations, and offers training and classes for those who want to do it themselves.
