LEESBURG, VA - June shipments of thermally fused laminate (TFL) were 118 MMSF, up 7.3% compared to the same period a year ago, according to the Composite Panel Association (CPA).

CPA reported that year-to-date shipments increased 2.4% to 674 MMSF and second quarter shipments rose 2.3% over 2013.  Shipments were extrapolated based on data from 69.8% of the US industry and 75.3% of the Canadian industry.

The CPA recently released its annual composite wood panel production capacity report. Total North American production capacity of particleboard, MDF, hardboard and engineered wood siding decreased 4.4 percent from January 2013 to January 2014.
