Rougier had revenues of € 37.2 million in the first quarter 2012, up 7.7% in Q1 2011. Branch Rougier Africa International posted a quarterly revenue of € 28.3 million, an increase of 12.6% in Q1 2011.

Chinese domestic demand fueled growth in hardwood lumber sales to the region, though price competition remained tough. Vietnamese and Malaysian manufacturers meanwhile continued to benefit from a shift in manufacturing away from China into lower-cost regions.
