A fire was reported this morning at Forest Products, Inc., a sawmill and planing mill in Gray, KY. Fire departments from six jurisdictions were fighting the flames. The sawmill had a massive fire in summer 2010.

The sustained housing recovery in the U.S. has had a positive effect on a number of companies and industries, and is especially true for companies with operations in lumber, such as Louisiana-Pacific Corp. and Weyerhaeuser Co. Lumber companies have been battling through subdued demand for some time, and those still standing could benefit from the uptick as well as reduced competition.
