VANCOUVER, BC - Western Forest Products Inc. (TSX:WEF) named Don Demens as president.  Hired in 2009, Demens was appointed Sr. VP, sales and manufacturing and in 2011 became COO.

"Don has been instrumental in the turnaround of Western. Under his leadership we have seen a change in business culture with a strong focus on margin," said Dominic Gammiero, CEO, in a statement announcing the news.

With over 25 years of coastal forest industry background, Demens has spent significant time based in Japan - a major market.  An integrated Canadian forest products company and the largest coastal British Columbia woodland operator and lumber producer, Western Forest Products has annual available harvest of  6.4 million cubic metres of timber and lumber capacity in excess of 1 billion board feet from eight sawmills and three remanufacturing plants.
