Timbervest Sells $14.2 Million of Forestry Assets, 10,400 AcresATLANTA - Timber investment firm Timbervest LLC has sold more than 10,000 acres of timberland assets in Florida, South Carolina and Vermont from its fund. The combined value of the three transactions totals more than $14.2 million.

News of the sale was announced January 15. Approximately 6,710 acres in Lafayette County, Florida, were sold to an institutional, environmentally-themed investment entity. Timbervest also sold 2,416 acres in Kershaw County, South Carolina, to a timberland investment group. Another 1,243 acres in Washington County, Vermont, were sold to an investor interested in the hardwood species located there, along with the land's recreational appeal, Timbervest said.

In September 2013, the Atlanta-based Timbervest added 13,220 acres of timberland in Georgia, Tennessee and Vermont to its portfolio. Founded in 1995, Timbervest currently manages more than 600,000 acres of timberland, timber-related assets and investments, with a market value in excess of $1.4 billion.
