Ethan's Tool Of The Week - Pre Release Radar - Bosch's New Reciprocating Saw
-- Bosch Pre Release Radar --

Say hello to the new Bosch Multi-Grip GSA18V-125 18V EC Brushless 1-1/4" Stroke Reciprocating Saw.

Bosch has come out with some pretty impressive attention grabbing blade tools lately. Pair that with their new and improved batteries and you find yourself holding a lot of cutting power.

When it is officially released, August 1st, Bosch’s new multi-grip reciprocating saw is sure to turn some heads.

After taking it around the shop and cutting into everything that was laying around, my 3 major takeaways are -

Ergonomic Design -

Bosch breaks open the standard reciprocating saw design and brings a new shape to the table. They call it ergonomically designed, I say it looks a little like an aardvark…but no matter what you think, one things for sure, it feels good to hold. For time sake I’m not going to list all the angles you might cut and the corresponding grip, but lets just say, whatever way I tried to cut there was a grip for that. With the battery mounted near the middle and a weight of 7.7 pounds (tool weight) it even feels good cutting one handed.

Blade Release -
The tool-less blade change, with its large flip point and straight forward design, is easy to use with or without gloves. Easy blade change is a must when using a reciprocating saw and Bosh makes it quick and painless.

Variable Speed Controls-
The adjustable speed control is a great feature, prominently located and easily reached by your trigger hand thumb. Spin the dial to select your needed speed and get a custom cut for any situation. Perfect for starting cuts and controlling the blade in tight spaces.

Overall this reciprocating saw checks all the boxes, and gets a few extra points for the innovative design.
