CHARLOTTE, NC – Biesse was pleased to return to AWFS as an exhibitor after a one show absence in 2009.
“We have been long-time supporters and participants of AWFS Fair, and we were glad to be back. It is certainly the most important industry event for all of North America this year,” said Federico Broccoli, president, Biesse America.
Biesse was present with 4,000 Sq Ft of space, with product experts and certified technicians on hand to demonstrate the latest Biesse technology.
Many of Biesse’s newest technologies were on display including the Nesting Working Cell Rover AG / Skill NBC for the production of cabinets and kitchen doors, the Klever 1530 CNC gantry working center for the processing of wood based panels, plastic and composite materials, the Viet S3 widebelt sander, the EKO 902 vertical NC boring and inserting machine, the Akron 425 and Roxyl 5.5 edgebanders, and the six-axes, gantry-frame Bacci Sharp for the processing of stairs and furniture.
A particular highlight of the show was the presentation of the prestigious Sequoia Award for Product Innovation in Components to Biesse America for the Viet HP Sanding Pad. Given since 1997, the Sequoia New Product Awards recognize innovative products based on quality, production impact, practicality, innovation and user-friendliness.

This patented technology offers the highest precision and quality of sanding along with increased abrasive belt life of up to 30%. Receiving this prestigious award highlights innovative sanding technology Viet has developed for nearly 60 years” says Brand Sales Manager Mike Johnson.
The Viet HP (High Performance) Low Pressure Sanding Pad was recognized as an innovative new technology for wood sanding machines. Available on all Viet machines as a longitudinal pad, cross pad, or super-finishing pad, the technology is capable of employing single or multi pressure (which features independent pressure in each working sector) allowing the pad to deliver a much higher performance when compared to traditional sanding pads. Features include soft contact for special applications, specific “dedicated” pressure elements for flat surfaces, high “copying” capacity for uniform sanding on panels of varying flatness and precision in following any panel shape.
