CONOVER, N.C. – Supply chain leader Zenith Global Logistics has opened home delivery hubs in Stoughton, Mass., and Bloomfield, N.J., and added nine new straight trucks to its home delivery fleet at the new locations.

“Retailers in the Northeast reached out to us to provide white glove, final mile delivery to their customers, and we responded by expanding our home delivery hub network to meet their needs in this region,” explains Jack Hawn, President and CEO. “These hubs were strategically located to enable us to offer our customers white glove home delivery service in multiple states.”

The 30,000-sq.-ft. Stoughton location, which is approximately 20 miles from Boston, will service Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Eastern Connecticut, and Southern New Hampshire. The facility opened its doors with a staff of 12. In Bloomfield, approximately 15 minutes from New York City, Zenith opened a 50,000-sq.-ft facility with a team of 16. That hub will provide white glove home delivery service to the greater New York metropolitan area, New Jersey, and Western Connecticut. Nine new Freightliner M2 straight trucks were deployed to the new Northeast locations to meet initial demand.

“Based on anticipated customer demand, we expect both our team and fleet at these locations to double in the first quarter of 2015,” Hawn states. With the addition of the Stoughton and Bloomfield hubs, Zenith now has a network of eight home delivery locations throughout the U.S.

All of Zenith Global asset-based hubs offer advanced technology, including route optimization via Dispatch Track, which provides accurate route scheduling within two-hour delivery windows, real-time GPS tracking of orders, automated call-ahead confirmation to consumers, and real-time capture and visibility of photos, job notes, and customers’ signatures.

“Like all of our facilities, our home delivery hubs are process oriented, and our teams are extensively trained,” Hawn remarks. “Because of this our customers can count on delivery within seven days with a 99.91% satisfaction rate and a damage rate of less than .3%. Our deluxing team preps all furniture before it is ever loaded for delivery, from inspecting drawers, doors, finishes, and fabrics, to wiping and polishing all surfaces, to final padding and blanket wrapping of items for protection.” White gloves are worn to protect surfaces, shoes are covered during inclement weather to protect floors, and a red carpet is rolled out at the consumer’s doorstep at the time of delivery.

Future expansions include a new Connecticut home delivery hub, which is scheduled to open during the first quarter of 2015. Last year the company opened a home delivery hub in Fountain Valley, Calif.
