The Pauley Pavilion renovation project entered yet another phase on Wednesday, as the first wooden boards that will comprise the arena's main floor were laid down.

The process, which entails first having to lay down all of the boards before then going back and nailing each board together, is expected to take roughly a week to complete. The next steps will be sanding and sealing the floor, with the final two touches being the addition of graphics and finishing.

Hundreds of workers are expected to be in the buliding over the next two months finishing off the final details leading up to the building's opening in November. New Pauley's first two sporting events will be the men's basketball game against Indiana State on Friday, November 9 and the women's basketball contest against San Diego State the following day.
