REHAU has been using suitable edgebands for laser welding edgeband materials from the very start. The market leader for flexibly implementable polymer edgebands is now reorganising its range to provide the fabricator with an even quicker overview: RAU-KANTEX laser edge has become RAUKANTEX pro, which can be used with all the latest zero-joint technologies. Joining the group is another zero-joint version, RAUKANTEX plus, with pre-coated adhesives in various standard colours. And the third product family in the range is RAUKANTEX pure, the classic primer edgeband from REHAU.

Growing demand for good design and looks coupled with improving product quality play a leading role in furniture manufacture. Regardless of which requirements a processor has for an edgeband, REHAU has the right solution for every requirement in terms of design, function and processing: RAUKANTEX pure, RAUKANTEX plus and RAUKANTEX pro.

From RAUKANTEX laser edge to RAUKANTEX pro

The process of laser welding edgeband materials has made its way into almost all areas of the furniture industry in recent years. REHAU recognized this technology’s enormous potential early on, and was the first market provider to offer a pure-polymer edgeband solution – RAUKANTEX laser edge. In the meantime, other innovative technologies have established themselves on the market in addition to the laser process. They enable the permanent, jointless and adhesive-free connection between edgeband and board and an optimised production process. They are the hot-air, plasma and NIR (near infra-red) processes. RAUKANTEX laser edge has therefore become RAUKANTEX pro: a single edgeband for all processing technologies. Apart from the new name, there’s no change to the proven quality. RAUKANTEX pro consists of a special polymer functional layer that offers a precise colour match with the visible side of the edgeband and, when processed correctly, can be optimally melted on at all application stages, producing a narrow surface closure without visible joints.

Zero-joint technology with coloured adhesive layer: RAUKANTEX plus

At the same time, the polymer specialist is introducing a completely new edgeband range that also possesses everything it needs to create a zero-joint look. RAUKANTEX plus, an edgeband with pre-fabricated adhesive layer. While RAUKANTEX pro is up to 100% free of adhesives, RAUKANTEX plus has an adhesive on its rear side in various standard colours, which it uses to ensure an equally zero-joint look.

RAUKANTEX plus is the springboard, as it were, into zero-joint technology. This edgeband also works with all processing technologies such as laser, hot air and plasma – without the need for any special adjustments.

RAUKANTEX pure: the classic primer edgeband

All good things come in three, which is why REHAU has combined all edgeband variants that require a primer into RAUKANTEX pure. RAUKANTEX pure can be easily processed with all standard adhesives.

With over 1,200 colours and decorative designs, the extensive REHAU Express Collection, with the three lines RAUKANTEX pro, RAUKANTEX plus and RAUKANTEX pure, leaves nothing to be desired. All edgebands are available from stock – even at the smallest quantities, meaning that fabricators need no large storage facilities of their own.
