Materia 1 Toccami

Neumarkt/Cologne – Pfleiderer will be surprising its customers with plenty of depth at the "Interzum" from 5th to 9th May 2015 in Cologne.

At the leading international trade fair for the furniture and interior construction industries, the wood-based panel manufacturer will be presenting "Materia" for the first time ever; "Materia" is Pfleiderer's new surfaces family for Duropal-HPL with extra-deep texturing. Natural patterns such as wood or stone are just as feasible as abstract, geometric structures.

Each panel is like a picture

"With Materia we have continued to develop a production process, which gives high-pressure laminates a tangible vibrant surface, the like of which has not been available until now", explains Reinhold Hinterhölzl, who is responsible for HPL product management at Pfleiderer: "Yet apart from their new feel, which by the way is wonderful to work with, it is the visual appearance of our Materia textures that we find so enthralling." As these have no visible repeat, each board seems like a picture - that is 4100x1300 mm in size.

This is especially appealing in "Materia 1 Toccami ", with which Pfleiderer is starting its new range. "With this surface we are expressing our admiration for nature", says Hinterhölzl: "After all, hardly any other material has such a fine effect as wood, from a tree which has grown for more than 100 years." With fine detail, a natural bloom, rustic, robust and yet timelessly elegant, "Materia 1 Toccami" is incredibly similar to the original model.

"Fantastic with natural plain colours"

"It is as if this matt texture with slight glossy areas had been especially created for exclusive furniture and interior finishes", explains Hinterhölzl: "For example, we recommend Materia 1 Toccami as a front or as a horizontal surface of very high-quality solitary pieces of furniture or kitchens." As an all-over surface it can be combined well with selected wood reproductions. "But Materia 1 Toccami looks fantastic especially when used together with near-natural plain colours", says Hinterhölzl.

The same applies to Materia duo, although this texture has a very different character. "Like jute", is how Hinterhölzl describes it: "But it could also be a special construction material." This texture can be combined in corresponding diverse ways, for example, with strong, full plain colours. Or with the textile decor "Twist", which finds its perfect complement in Materia duo.
