JEFFERSONVILLE, IN -- One Southern Indiana is pleased to announce the expansion of Olon Industries, Inc.'s Jeffersonville location to a 100,000 sq. ft. facility at River Ridge Commerce Center. Based in Georgetown, Onatario, Olon Industries manufactures quality, custom-designed, wrapped profiles and components for the cabinet, office furniture, kitchen and bath, store fixture, and architectural/hospitality industries. The company's Jeffersonville location is a custom and profile moulding manufacturing facility.

In December 2008, Olon Industries acquired Creative Products, Inc. located at 3101 Hamburg Pike in Jeffersonville. Continuation of the company's current lease at that location was not a suitable option. Olon Industries considered relocation and expansion throughout North America. Officials with One Southern Indiana, the State of Indiana, and the City of Jeffersonville worked closely with company representatives to find an appropriate location in Jeffersonville, which would allow all current employees to preserve their jobs with the company.

This retention and expansion project will maintain 30 Southern Indiana jobs and includes the creation of 11 new jobs by 2014. The project brings major investment in additional payroll, real estate improvements and new plant equipment.

Through the coordination of One Southern Indiana, the City of Jeffersonville has offered Olon Industries an opportunity to apply for property tax abatement through the Urban Enterprise Zone. This allows Olon Industries to phase-in its property taxes over time while simultaneously increasing the tax base. Additionally, the Indiana Economic Development Corp. has offered the company an amount equal to the lesser of nine percent of the company's qualified investment made on or before December 31, 2013, or $35,000 under the state's Hoosier Business Investment Tax Credit program.
