LAVERGNE, TN – The new Powermatic PM2800B Drill Press elevates performance standards in an 18” stationary drill press by incorporating a host of convenient, time-saving features, such as 6” quill travel with a single revolution of the hand. There’s no work area shadows to contend with. The PM2800B has two LED lights that flood the work area, one complimenting the other, for shadow-free viewing. Plus, twin lasers provide the drill bit’s location of where it enters the work material, which eliminates guesswork. The handwheel located on the side of the motor controls the variable speed system allowing the user to run the full range of speeds without having to reposition belts. While the machine is running, the user sets the desired speed by monitoring the digital readout level in front of the machine.

The PM2800B’sfront panel digital readout monitors spindle speeds from 250 rpm to 3000 rpm. No more manual belt changes. The spindle has a 6” range of travel with a maximum distance to the table of 25-1/2”. The spindle distance to the base is 45”. The drill press has a swing of 18”.

This Drill Press has a 20”L x 14”W cast iron table and an easy to use fence with two cam locks to secure it as well as an adjustable material stop to set up repetitive cuts, quickly and easily ─ an industry first. The positive latching power of these locks secures the fence to the desired position without slippage. The work table can be raised or lowered through rack and pinion to accommodate the height of the workpiece.

The work table also has an inset of a small rectangular piece of wood with four set screws, which can be adjusted to accommodate the needs of the project. The table also bevels from 0-90°.

The powerful PM2800B Drill Press features solid construction with an oversized cast iron base for stability and rigidity. The 246-lb. machine’s dimensions are 18”W x20-1/4”D x 71”H with a base size of 13-3/8’ x 20”.

Ideal for the serious do-it-yourselfer, remodeler, carpenter and wood shops, the drill press is powered by a 1 hp, single-phase, 15-amp motor (115/230V) that’s prewired for 115 volts. The drill is equipped with a keyless 5/8” chuck. It can tackle a full range of woodworking projects with power to spare. Also handy is Powermatic’s left/right handle capability; whether the user is right or left-handed, the drill press handles can be mounted on either side of the powerhead.
