BALTIMORE – Visitors to KI’s booth (#1957) at NeoCon East 2013 will see how KI’s furniture and movable walls work together to create a harmonious blend of furniture and design across multiple markets and applications.

“KI’s NeoCon East space represents a continuation of simplicity and unification of design,” said Shawn Green, vice president of design and product marketing, KI. “We’re excited to meet with customers and share how our new furniture and movable wall solutions can inspire them to connect and collaborate while creating elegant, flexible, functional environments.”

The space features a wide range of new KI furniture, movable walls and technology solutions in a variety of applications and settings.

New to NeoCon East

Making headlines at NeoCon East is a series of new products from KI: MyWay™ Lounge Seating, Connection Zone™ Collection, Connection Zone™ Collection Screens, Blu Sky™ Collection and Lightline® Movable Wall enhancements.

Debuting in KI’s NeoCon East space is the new MyWay lounge seating. MyWay responds to the needs of each user with a wide variety of seating styles, allowing users to interact with the chair in varied unconventional seating styles—all while providing unparalleled ergonomic support. Users have the ability to sit on any horizontal surface and can sit in a variety of positions ranging from across the piece, diagonally, pretzel legged and more.

MyWay has a bold design aesthetic embodying simple, elegant, modern design. By responding to the needs of each user with a wide variety of seating styles and overall build style, MyWay provides superior comfort, unmatched performance and exceptional value.

Also debuting at NeoCon East is KI’s new Connection Zone Collection, which addresses the human element of workspace and how the right “zones” foster improved performance. Focus zones, retreat zones, social zones, ideation zones and storage zones are all key areas with discrete needs that are met with Connection Zone.

KI’s Connection Zone Collection includes teaming tables with privacy dividers, group project areas, soft seating areas that promote interaction while allowing for personal work-style preferences, privacy booths to tune out distractions, assigned and unassigned storage space and mobile work boards for information capture and impromptu space division.

The new Connection Zone Collection Screens, designed in partnership with Gensler, are freestanding screens with writable surfaces that promote collaboration and facilitate the sharing of ideas while inspiring creativity. Graduated opacity on acrylic screens offer both a lightness of scale and the permeation of light in and around the surface. Easel hooks allow for easy attachment and removal of pads. Optional ledges provide quick access to collaborative tools and dry erase items, while internal compartments provide long-term storage. Multiple units may be nested to save space or ganged side by side to create walls.

Making a splash at KI’s NeoCon East space is the new Blu Sky Collection. KI searched to the world to assemble Blu Sky—a portfolio of visually compelling products that are designed to challenge the traditional preconceptions and ideas about furniture, yet address real-life applications. Bly Sky products are creative and intuitive with unique stories and bold uses of materials. They will reshape the way architects and designers see—and specify—environments. Blu Sky consists of new and existing KI products in conjunction with licensed products. These inspired solutions are developed by leading brands and visionary designers from the Netherlands, England, Japan and across the globe in an exclusive partnership with KI.

Returning to NeoCon East is KI’s award-winning Lightline Movable Wall, a pre-assembled, movable glass wall storefront solution dedicated to the enhancement of light. Unifying architecture and office furniture, Lightline provides the look of a sophisticated storefront, yet has flexible elements that promote reuse by adapting to business changes quickly, efficiently and environmentally. Line enhancements for 2013 include pre-assembled door units, back-painted and architectural glass solutions.

Designed by KI, Lightline is the first and only unitized (pre-assembled) seamless butt-glazed wall solution on the market. Lightline provides a high level of aesthetics with thinner and more passive visuals and offers a true architectural product through its clean, rectilinear profiles and seamless connections. Lightline supports unlimited buttglazing, eliminating the need for vertical posts between glass panels.

New collections from Pallas® Textiles, a subsidiary of KI, will also be shown at NeoCon East, including the Drift Collection, designed by Laura Guido-Clark.
