January 2014 Marks 10th Anniversary of Get Organized (GO) Month

January is Get Organized (GO) Month, and the National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO) plans to observe the 10th anniversary of its national public awareness campaign by spreading the word about the benefits of improving order and efficiency.

Originally established as the “Get Organized WeekSM” Community Service Project Program in 2003, NAPO members held local events to help promote organizing in their communities. The success of the program led NAPO to officially proclaim January as GO Month in 2005, and develop a public awareness campaign to focus national attention on how getting organized saves time, saves money and reduces stress.

During GO Month, NAPO features tips and advice on time management, organization, storage, and productivity on NAPO.net, its Get Organized Blog, and its social media sites. NAPO professional organizers and productivity specialists across the country have planned nearly 20 events throughout January to celebrate GO Month’s 10th anniversary, including an online photo contest, organizing storage spaces at local charities, live and online seminars, recycling events, an official GO Month state proclamation and much more. By sharing proven organizing and productivity techniques and principles, NAPO members empower individuals, families, businesses and organizations to regain control over their time, possessions, inboxes and surroundings.

Several of NAPO’s Corporate Associate Members have signed on as the official sponsors of GO Month to help deliver NAPO’s beneficial messages about organization and productivity.
