ALEXANDRIA, VA - The International Wood Products Association (IWPA) announced today the hiring of Cindy Squires as the new IWPA Executive Vice President, replacing former EVP Brent McClendon.
Ms. Squires has served since 2003 as the Chief Counsel for Public Affairs and Director of Regulatory Affairs for the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA), where she directed its regulatory, legal, and trade programs. She also oversaw the operation of the NMMA’s BoatPAC. In her capacity at NMMA, she was active within the Lacey Coalition. Her knowledge of many issues affecting the international trade in wood and wood products will be a wonderful advantage for IWPA.

Prior to NMMA, Ms. Squires practiced environmental and administrative law at Beveridge & Diamond, P.C. and spent 5 years in the Executive Branch as a legislative liaison and regulatory analyst at the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Marketing Service. Before moving to USDA, Ms. Squires worked as a legislative staffer on the U.S. Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry. Ms. Squires graduated cum laude from the Washington College of Law, American University and is admitted to the Maryland and the District of Columbia bars. Ms. Squires has her B.A. in International Studies from George Mason University.
