HomeAid America Receives Masco Corporation Foundation Grant

NEWPORT BEACH, CA - HomeAid America, a nonprofit organization that provides housing to organizations helping the homeless throughout the country, is proud to announce that it has been selected to receive a $100,000 donation from the Masco Corporation Foundation for 2015.

Through a competitive grant process, HomeAid America was awarded a grant for its programs which: 1) build housing and other facilities for homelessness service providers, and 2) undertake community outreach activities to provide facility renovation or operational assistance for the programs of these service providers. "HomeAid has been a true collaborator with Masco in its efforts to provide safe housing for individuals and families experiencing poverty and domestic violence," stated Melonie Colaianne, President of Masco's Foundation. "HomeAid is a strong steward and partner in helping to eradicate homelessness across our nation."

HomeAid shelter projects typically include support services that help residents move toward self-sufficiency, such as education and job-skills training, financial counseling, and both physical and emotional support. A portion of the grant will be used by HomeAid America to oversee these programs, with the balance going into the actual projects being built by HomeAid's 15 chapters across the country.

HomeAid also recently appointed Jon Dartt, Vice President of Sales for Delta Faucet (a Masco company), to its Board of Directors. Mr. Dartt has been with Delta for over 20 years and oversees all national builder sales for the company. Mr. Dartt has also been active in charities such as Habitat for Humanity, United Way, and Champ Camp.

"When I was made aware of an opening on the Board of Directors for HomeAid, I jumped at the opportunity to serve on behalf of Delta and Masco," said Mr. Dartt. "The benefits that HomeAid is providing for homeless individuals and families is fantastic and I wanted to be a part of it. It's a privilege for me to give back to those in need as well as use my industry experience and relationships to get more Masco companies involved," said Dartt.

HomeAid America CEO Peter Simons said, "Masco has been such a reliable and caring partner over the past several years, and this latest showing of generosity is just amazing. We will work hard to ensure that this grant is put to good use by organizations helping the homeless around the country. We are also thrilled to have Jon Dartt join our national Board of Directors. We are very lucky to have his expertise and compassion for the charitable causes that we pursue on behalf of the building industry."
