Dublin, GA - Farmers home Furniture and the Dublin-Laurens County Development Authority are pleased to announce that Farmers home Furniture has acquired the Botkin Lumber Company warehouse on Industrial Boulevard for purposes of expanding its current distribution operations. The expansion will bring a $4 million investment in Laurens County and will generate 62 jobs over the next 10 years.

Farmers home Furniture was founded in 1949 by Sherwin Glass in Soperton, Georgia. Farmers is currently listed as one of the Top 100 furniture companies in America with its corporate headquarters and distribution center located in Dublin, Georgia. Farmers is now an employee-owned company with 180 stores and 1,900 employees in Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Alabama and Florida. The Dublin corporate office and distribution facility currently employ 290 people from Laurens and surrounding counties.

Following a multi-state search for distribution center space, Farmers determined that Laurens County was still the best fit for its expansion purposes due to its proximity to the Savannah port, the availability of the Botkin Lumber facility, the availability of skilled workers and the continued support of the Dublin-Laurens County Development Authority and other local government agencies.
