Elkay's Schuler Cabinetry Launched Cappucino Multi-step Finishing

OAK BROOK, Ill - Schuler Cabinetry, an Elkay Companies cabinet brand available exclusively at Lowe’s Home Improvement Stores, has launched a new, multi-step finish called Cappuccino. This finish is available on a variety of wood species, including cherry, knotty alder, oak and quartersawn oak.

“Home décor is trending towards organic materials, natural movement and the presence of texture,” said Lindsay Klebenow, Elkay’s vice president of marketing. “As a fashion-forward brand, Schuler has embraced this trend through the Cappuccino finish, which enhances the graining of the wood.”

Similar to the variations and ‘imperfections’ found in soapstone or copper materials, Cappuccino emulates this kind of distinctiveness. Fluctuations in finish absorption, uniformity and color contrast will be evident across all cabinet components, which is the natural beauty of this unique finish.

“Schuler offers beautiful custom finishes that Lowe’s designers and customers are looking for. The multiple steps in Cappuccino include an ivory stain with a charcoal overlay that is proudly hand applied by Schuler artisans. The result is a warm caramel/gray finish, which can be further enhanced with Burnt Sienna Glaze and antique or legacy distressing to deliver a truly custom finish. Pairing Cappuccino with Cottage White Sheer or one of our classic white paints is an easy way to achieve the rustic luxe look you love,” said Kristi Howard, Elkay product manager.
